FSM follows up with prospects of membership in the University of the South Pacific

Vice President Alik L. Alik has made communication with Professor Rajesh Chandra, Vice Chancellor and President of the University of the South Pacific who is based in Suva, Fiji regarding the FSM's interest in full membership  at the university.

Mr. Chandra made a visit to the FSM last year in line with this interest and for other purposes.

Vice President Alik made reference to the fact that FSM made a similar request in 1986 with the university and was "provisionally approved" by the University Council pending further documentations.

FSM's membership with the university will require approval of Congress, something the Administration is working on to obtain full backing of the nation's leadership.
