FSMIS (November 22, 2013): The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, in collaboration with the World Health Organization and the Pacific Disability Forum, organized a workshop in Suva, Fiji last week to "promote dialogue" between the representatives from government disability focal Ministries, Finance Ministries and
national statistics agencies as well as Disabled people organizations around the Pacific region "for the rights of person with disabilities in the Pacific", according to a PIF media release.
The workshop took place under the banner of Regional Disability Inclusive Budgeting and Disability Statistics Workshop and is acclaimed by the Forum as the "first" of its kind in the region. A link to the report on the meeting is provided below.
Federated States of Micronesia participants at the workshop included Ms. Brihmer Johnson, Ms. Christina Martin and Mr. Stuard Penias, FSM Youth Coordinator, Department of Health and Social Affairs.
Ms. Johnson and Ms. Martin are from the Divisions of Budget and Statistics at the FSM Office of Statistics, Budget and Economic Management, Overseas Development Assistance and Compact Management, SBOC.
