President Mori holds last Cabinet meeting in 2014

The last 2014 Cabinet meeting convened on Wednesday morning, December 31, at the President’s Conference room. The meeting specifically centered on the efforts, services and achievements of the past year, while also taking a broader view on a few highlights. Namely, for the first time in the history of Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), the revenue has gone up over $100 million. Additionally, the FSM National Government zeroed out its share of the Compact sector grants to increase shares of the States under the interest of “burden-sharing”, to name a few.

President Manny Mori underscored his appreciation to his Cabinet and Agency Heads for their contribution and commitment to serving the Nation.

“For this administration, we have until (middle of) next year; I want to ask you to give further efforts and further our service to our people across FSM.”

Turning to fellow Cabinet members, Secretary of Foreign Affairs Lorin Robert said it would be a remiss to enter the new year (2015) without the Cabinet expressing their appreciation to the President. In that regard, he extended the invitation to Dr. Rufino Mauricio, Secretary of Education, to speak on behalf of the Cabinet, especially those who have been with President Mori since the start of his administration.

Secretary Mauricio expressed their gratitude to the President by also acknowledging the accomplishments that have taken place over the past seven years.

“On behalf of all of us, I would like to indicate to you that I personally and all of us have learned a great deal from your administration.  We have seen your leadership in many lights and it is found inspiring”, Secretary Mauricio stated, punctuating the close of not only the meeting itself, but also another enduring and eventful year for the Mori administration.
